Summer Training Goal

I have made a goal to teach Cali approximately 10 new tricks during my summer vacation.

The past three days, we have spent six quick sessions learning Beg and she is consistent with listening to the command. She needs to build up more muscle to keep herself up for longer but she knows the command well enough now so that it's easy to work on.

Progress with Beg

I am not too certain on the next tricks we'll be working on, but Bow and Roll Over are two possibilities I've thought of.

Some shots of a ball-aholic! (aka outtakes)

These are some of the pictures that didn't make the cut for Flickr's 52 Weeks For Dogs.

Flickr 52 Weeks: Week Two

Confessions of a Ball-aholic

If there is something you must know about Cali, it's her love of tennis balls. Of course, actual tennis balls are far too big for her, so she's stuck with extra small KONG squeakers. As you can see, she is too obsessed to be happy with just one. In fact, she has four with her in this shot.
When we're playing fetch, I'll often throw two balls. Since she can't fit them both in her mouth, Cali has learned to "juggle". She'll put one ball between her legs, and one in her mouth as she scoots across the floor. She switches them out along the way and usually makes it back with both balls pretty quickly. She's pretty innovative at times!

Flickr 52 Weeks: Week One

1/52 This is Me.

So this is Cali. She's a purebred Papillon who will be two this coming March. She is the epitome of a big dog in a small package. Not only is she a velco dog, but she's exuberant, loving and energetic.. verging on psychotic. I ADORE her.

Indoor action shots! (or attempts)

I'm going to try and drag my sister outside with me in an attempt to get better pictures so this will have to do. Also, I've joined the 52 Weeks For Dogs on Flickr so in addition to the 52 Weeks of Chazhound.. this blog will get a minimum of two pictures a week. (but, at this rate, more like 100!)

Miniature Border Collie?

Loud mouth.

She could qualify as a pet model or something, I think.

Yes, more pictures!

"I know, I'm adorable."
Kudos to pet owners who are able to take action shots.
Strike a pose!
"Okay, so I'm kind of a little cute, right?" (candid shot!)

Trying out manual!

I decided to take photos on manual today, and I edited the best ones on RawTherapee afterwards.

This is the favourite picture of the day, it'd be perfect if her eyes were open!

She's adorable and she knows it!

A bit disgruntled, maybe?

Our beloved Moses!

Chazhound 52 Weeks: Week 1 + Outtakes

Week 1/52: This is My Dog

Cali is crazy, exuberant, enthusiastic and happy... however, we did luck out because she has an off switch and is super friendly and affectionate.

Outtakes!

A brief photo series

This set of photos demonstrates Cali and Moses' relationship. He tolerates her, that's about it!

Supplementary Puppy Pictures!

Just because Cali was indeed the cutest puppy ever, I think it's completely necessary to share a few. She was a show stopper then and still is now, many are often surprised to hear that she is nearly two years old. Where has the time gone?!?

Oh goodness, was she not the most adorable puppy ever?

She still has that teddy bear, I can remember when we went into PetSmart to pick it out on our way home from the breeder's. Cali was quite nervous and all wrapped up in my arms. The bear is still a bit out of proportion for her, but not quite as badly.

See what I mean? Since this, our kitchen got a super nice renovation.. so it doesn't look so horrible now.

Not much has changed, she's still adorable.. although she doesn't remain quite so photogenic. As soon as she sees you with a camera, she runs right over for her close up.

Maybe an ugly stage, but not so ugly?

***************

Loads more pictures, but I shall save them for her birthday post!

Obligatory Introduction Post

Now, what would a dog blog be without puppy pictures of the star?

A quick introduction on Cali.

She's nearly two years old, will be on March 10 of this coming year.

She came from Silverwings Kennel, and was born to Ch. Silverwings Iris and Yorick Maria Sirrah, who was imported from Slovakia. She's registered with CKC as Silverwings Unique and was one of four puppies in her litter.

She weighs a mighty five pounds, a tad less actually.

She adores everyone. Yes, everyone.

We are starting flyball relatively soon, once we get in touch with the trainer.

She is quite smart, and picks up new tricks quite easily. (minus 'twirl'.. took her awhile!)

She has boundless energy and often is found doing zoomies late at night when triggered.

Snow makes her psychotic.

She is the epitome of "big dog in a small package."
